Flower Show

Going to the Macy's Flower Show in San Francisco has been a family tradition since we were tiny little children. When I was a little girl we looked forward each year at Easter time to going downtown to see the amazing flower and beautiful plant decorations. Afterwards we would have lunch and do some shopping for Easter. This year we went with my daughter and parents and had a fantastic time!!!

Easter 2010

We had an absolutely wonderful Easter. It was raining this year so we were unable to do an Easter egg hunt for the children, but we still had little Easter baskets for them filled with scrumptious sugar cookies and little eggs. We served a buffet for Easter this year. We had ham topped with homemade brown sugar, apple cider and Dijon mustard topping. Homemade macaroni and cheese, potato salad, green salad and roasted asparagus. For desert we had cookies, cupcakes and a pistachio cake topped with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. A fun time was had by all.

Wishing Everyone A Happy Easter 2010

I hope that you all have a very Happy Easter!!!!

Because as usual I am very short on time, I am going to share with you some of my pictures from last year's Easter. Easter is by far the most important of all the holidays for me. First because of the spiritual significance of Easter and also because it is a time to rejoice, reflect and be thankful for all the happiness and love that we have.

I made some fun Easter baskets for each child that came to our home. We put some candy treats, eggs, and little toys for each child in his or her basket. We also had an Easter egg hunt out in the garden which was enjoyed by all the children. As you can see, the eggs were rather visible but the kids enjoyed scrambling about trying to get as many as possible. These little cupcakes were made to resemble an Easter basket. I am not sure they do, but they were fun to make :-)

Mad Hatter Tea Party

This is just an amazing Mad Hatter Tea Party table that is on display at Bloomingdale's in downtown San Francisco. I just love all the colors and combinations used. What makes this table even more spectacular is that the center rotates around slowly.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
I have not been able to set up my Easter table yet that I will have for Sunday but I hope to take pictures of it when I do on Saturday night. I plan to have it similar to my teatime table I set here, but I will serve a buffet instead of tea.
Have a very Happy Easter!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

" The best and most beautiful things in the world
cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart."

Love Is In The Air

Guess what? It's time to start getting ready for Valentine's again. This is always a fun time for grown-ups and children. My mother especially loves Valentine. She and I took a break and started fiddling around with how the table should be set for the party she is giving. She wants to cook a romantic french dinner and have each guest wear a large paper heart like Julia Child's did in the movie Julia & Julia (not even Meryl Streep can do her justice). Can't wait! ..... Some fun little facts I know about Julia Child, who is my ABSOLUTE favorite: she thought Mc Donald's was not bad at all, and she was seen in the Santa Barbara -Costco purchasing the roasted chickens for her dinner. Let's face it she was a very REAL and intelligent woman who was no superficial snob.
